The SpirePDF library we use to manipulate/convert PDF files has an issue when generating OCR'd PDFs with PDF/A conformance enabled. The resulting PDF OCR data becomes corrupted. Spire has opened their own ticket to address the issue and that will be fixed in one of their upcoming releases, but in the meantime, we are adding our own workaround: since PDF/A conformance is not always necessary, we're adding configuration settings that will allow us to turn off the PDF/A conformance so that the resulting PDFs do not exhibit this issue. In the future, after the 3rd party library is updated with their own fix, we may re-enable PDF/A conformance by default. |
